About

A collection of online voices and discussions on diversity in literature for children and young adults:

It's been almost 50 years since Nancy Larrick published "The All-White World of Children's Books," her critique and call to action about the lack of diversity in children's books, in The Saturday Review. Yet half a century later the publishing numbers are still dismal and disparity remains. Online conversations about this issue have been growing in the last year. Is it possible that with the golden anniversary of Larrick's article the topic will have a revival that will lead to lasting changes in the face of literature for children and young adults?

Will change happen this time around or will we still be having this conversation in another 50 years?
